THE FOUNDER

Mark Davies is a lifelong martial artist who holds 8 genuine blackbelt credentials in different fighting arts from all over the world and has been a full-time professional instructor since 1987. One of the things that sets Mark apart from most instructors is his real life combat experience of actually applying his training in real life situations. Mark has 19 years experience working in some of the most violent places of the UK, and has experienced literally thousands of violent incident through work in pub and nightclub security. In actual fact Mark was working as a door supervisor before he was legally old enough to be in the club itself. Mark has faced every kind of unarmed and armed attack imaginable.

From nightclub security Mark went on to be trained in specialised security and has advanced specialist weapons training and tactical training from some of the best instructors in the world. He is a Close Combat Instructor to elements of UK Special Forces, and has provided specialised training over the years for some of the world’s most elite units and agencies.

Mark has a deep understanding of the reality of violence and the mindset of attackers and in recent years has advised the Government on the knife crime epidemic.  His “Cutting Edge” programme which is aimed at youths who carry weapons has seen him everywhere from the Scottish Parliament, to the Italian Government to the GMTV couch.

His current aim is to breed a high calibre of instructors to promote the Tactical Edge system throughout the world.
